Our company was founded by Volunteer Fire Fighters, Eva and Tom Cofer in the
early 1980s. After a few years of fighting fires in Cullman, Alabama, they
realized how
hard it was for volunteer fire departments to afford trucks.
They began to buy used fire apparatus and refurbish this equipment, making tankers fully operational and looking new for a low cost. The Cofers still own a classic 1958 Mack.
In 1983 there were five employees, including the Cofers, and the demand was so great, Good Hope Fire Apparatus, Inc. was off and running.
In the beginning Good Hope Fire Apparatus only worked with used trucks, refurbishing them to like-new condition. Today, we offer both new and used tankers for volunteer fire departments.
We
currently employ a number of people who are dedicated to building tankers
to the upmost functionality and style. We build low-profile stainless steel
2000-gallon tanks and 3000-gallon steel tanks. We mount the tank and add all
the other components that a volunteer fire department might need. Other options
are available per individual fire department order.
We custom-build all our tankers, and our friendly staff can help your fire department pick out a tanker that is just right for your location and needs.
We custom build all of our tankers, therefore, our trucks specs are standard, and we can add options to the tanker specs or remove options as requested.
